If you’ve already had the pleasure - or foreboding apprehension - of checking your results in the streaming platform’s annual year-end wrap-up, you might’ve noticed one new shiny data feature to share (or center your personality around): a reading of your audio aura.įor those unfamiliar, the aura reading is the latest way Spotify is helping you make sense of your year’s listening habits, this time by analyzing the moods and vibes of the songs you’ve been reaching for and distilling its findings into an aesthetically pleasing, colorful, and meditative aura portrait. Either way, Spotify Wrapped has given us all a fun and interesting experience, where we learn more about our listening habits and thus ourselves.Another year, another Spotify Wrapped. Here’s a fun little game Spotify gives you to play. The formatting is kind of harsh, isn’t it? Spotify gave each person an analysis of their musical moods, ranging from “bold” to “wistful.” Mine, as shown, were “angst” and “yearning.” You can probably tell how my year has been so far by that.Īgain, this one is self-explanatory. This one was where everyone started getting embarrassed, including myself. Spotify then gives you a playlist of your top 100 songs from the year. Then, you get a list of your top 5 songs. (Fun fact: I accidentally left this song on repeat for 8 hours. First, you get your top song and how many times it was played. This is where your taste starts to truly shine. I spend any second I can listening to music, so this wasn’t surprising. We don’t know how exactly they chose the songs for each category, but it’s interesting to see nonetheless!
